Online Desk :  Labour and Employment Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has categorically said that the information about forming a new political party under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement is nothing but merely a rumor. “We have made it clear and are now telling you very clearly that we have no ambition to form a new political party,” Asif, also Youth and Sports adviser of the interim government, told a group of journalists in Rajshahi on Tuesday.

After inaugurating the National Occupational Safety and Health Training and Research Institute (NOSHTRI) in Rajshahi, he told a questioner, “We, the members of the interim government, have no power aspirations. We all have professional careers and wish to go back there.” The countrymen vested the state power upon the interim government through an upsurge with the hope of restructuring the state, he said.

“Our aim is nothing but to hand over the state power to a democratic government through an election upholding the people’s hopes and aspirations,” said one of the key student movement coordinators. Earlier on Monday, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgit, without providing any evidence, alleged that the students serving in the current government are also considering forming a student-led political party. Therefore, there is no way for the people to trust the interim government as impartial, he said while addressing a function in Dhaka.
