Govt approves export of 3,000 tonnes of hilsa to India

Online Desk : The government has approved the export of 3,000 metric tonnes of hilsa fish to India on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja, said a Commerce Ministry statement on Friday. The statement instructed the exporting firms to contact the relevant wing of the ministry to obtain export permissions by 12:00 pm on 24 September.

Previously, the government had decided against exporting hilsa to India this year to ensure adequate supply of the fish in the local market.
