Online Desk  :   The Jatiya Party has canceled its planned rally and protest march scheduled for Saturday in front of its central office in Dhaka’s Bijoynagar area, following a ban by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on all gatherings, rallies, processions, and demonstrations in the Kakrail area and its surroundings. As a result, no party members have been seen at the party’s central office since Saturday morning. However, additional police forces have been deployed since early morning. The DMP said that the police have been deployed to manage any potential disturbances. Additionally, to prevent any undesirable incidents and ensure public safety, two army patrol vehicles arrived in front of the Jatiya Party’s office around 12:00 pm.

Approximately 30-35 police officers were seen standing and sitting directly in front of the party’s office, while media personnel gathered outside to report on the situation. The building that was recently set on fire remains vacant. Passersby, curious about the incident, were seen stopping to take pictures and discuss the event. Local sources reported that a fire broke out at the Jatiya Party’s central office around 7:00 pm on Thursday (October 31), following an alleged attack on a student rally. The fire service managed to bring the blaze under control.

In a public notice issued around 7:30 pm on Friday, DMP Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan announced a ban on all types of gatherings, rallies, processions, and demonstrations in areas including Pioneer Road and Kakrail in the capital. Earlier on Friday afternoon, Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader announced at a program in Banani that the party would hold a rally and protest march in front of its central office.
