Online Desk  :  Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday completed his two-day visit to the 10th Infantry Division, a unit of the Bangladesh Army located in Cox’s Bazar, a city in the country’s southeastern area.  During his visit, General Waker laid the foundation stone of two new family accommodation complexes, Senaneer and Swapnachura, at the Ramu cantonment. These projects aim to alleviate the housing shortage for officers, junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and other army personnel, reports a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In addition, General Waker’s wife, Sarahnaz Kamalika Zaman, inaugurated the Proyash Institute of Special Education at the Ramu cantonment as the chief guest. She also unveiled a renamed plaque for the Shaheed Lieutenant Tanzim Cantonment Public School and College, in honor of the late martyr Lieutenant Tanzim Sarwar. Lieutenant Tanzim made the ultimate sacrifice for his country on 24 September this year, embodying patriotism, self-sacrifice and heroism for the future generation.

The ceremony was attended by senior military officers from the headquarters and Ramu cantonment, family members of the martyred officer, junior commissioned officers, soldiers, civil officers and the teachers and students of the school.
