Online Desk  :  Newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Md Nasir Uddin has vowed to prevent one-sided and forced elections, stating that such practices have previously brought misfortune to the nation.  Speaking at a meeting with media personnel at the Election Commission (EC) headquarters on Sunday (November 24), the CEC said, “We are committed to ensuring elections that are free, fair, and inclusive. The nation has suffered enough from one-sided and forced elections. We aim to break that cycle.”

Highlighting his determination, he added, “I will use all my energy to meet the expectations of the people. I have faced challenges and fulfilled difficult responsibilities throughout my life. This is no different. My goal is to inspire voters to come to polling stations willingly and to honor our promise of credible elections.”  The CEC also acknowledged the daunting task ahead, emphasising, “Taking up this responsibility when the nation is weary is itself a challenge, and we are prepared to face daily obstacles to ensure transparency.”

Newly appointed Election Commissioners Md Anwarul Islam Sarkar, Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Tahmida Ahmed, and Brigadier General (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, and EC Secretary Md Shafiul Azim were present during the views exchange.
