Online Desk : Chittagong’s Premier University vice-chancellor Prof Dr Anupam Sen has resigned amid ongoing student protests. Pro-vice-chancellor of the university Kazi Shamim Sultana and treasurer have also resigned.
Registrar Mohammad Iftekher Monir confirmed the resination on Friday night (December 6). Citing old age, VC Anupam Sen resigned, while the pro-VC and treasurer resigned for personal reasons, Iftekher Monir added.
Students have been protesting for the last two days demanding resignation of the Vice-Chancellor. They announced a complete shutdown after locking three campuses on Wednesday. The protesters alleged that Anupam Sen is a member of the Awami League’s advisory council. He was opposed to the July-August revolution. He is an ‘ally of the fascist’ and should resign.
