Online Desk : Toby Cadman, Special Adviser to the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, expressed hope that India, as a democratic state, should take steps, in accordance with the treaty and following the law, to send Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh. He made this statement after a meeting on Wednesday (December 11) with the Chief Prosecutor of the Tribunal, other prosecutors, and officials from the investigation agencies.
Toby Cadman said that the amended ordinance of the Tribunal law meets international standards. However, he believes that further amendments are necessary in certain areas. He assured full cooperation for a transparent and acceptable judicial process in line with international standards in the trials of crimes against humanity committed in July-August.
Earlier, on November 20, Toby Cadman, a prominent human rights lawyer and joint head of the London-based law firm Guernica 37, was appointed as the Special Adviser to the Chief Prosecutor of the Tribunal by the interim government.
