Online Desk : Khalid Hasan, a co-coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and a 2021-22 session student of the Arabic department at Dhaka University, has been missing since Friday evening (December 20). CCTV footage last recorded him at 6:17 PM near the Doel Chattar area on campus. Khalid’s father Lutfur Rahman expressed deep concern during a human chain held on Monday (Dec 23). “I don’t know if my son is alive or not. I don’t know if he has friends or enemies. Please rescue him in any way possible,” he urged.
Students and organizers linked his disappearance to alleged attacks on activists involved in the July movement. Criticizing the lack of progress by law enforcement, fellow co-coordinator Sardar Nadim Shuvo questioned the government’s inaction and called the situation “shameful.” According to DU Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed, despite intensive efforts by law enforcement, including checking CCTV footage and phone records, no clues have been found about Khalid’s whereabouts. “DB and CID are working on it, and we are waiting for updates,” the proctor said.
Khalid’s belongings, including his bike and phone, were left behind, raising further questions. His family and friends continue to call for immediate action to locate him.
