Online Desk  :   The workers of an ice cream factory blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Mymensingh’s Bhaluka on Sunday, December 29, demanding payment of two months’ arrears.The workers of Lovello Ice Cream barricaded the highway in Beherbari area for an hour this morning, causing a long tailback.

The labourers withdrew the blockade around 11:00am after police assured them of arranging their dues, said Md Humayun Kabir, inspector (investigation) of the Bhaluka model police station. Ainul, who works at the factory, said the authorities did not pay their two months’ salary and do not even pay for overtime work and night duty from last year. However, the factory authorities could not be reached for comment.
