Online Desk  :   Commenting that reforms are an ongoing process, BNP’s Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan said on Wednesday that reforms never stop. He emphasised that the discussion of “reforms first, then elections” or “elections first, then reforms” holds no real significance. He stated that the new generation has not been able to vote and that they want to vote. The necessary reforms in the administration and police must be implemented before the elections can be held.

Moyeen Khan made these comments on Wednesday morning after paying homage at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal. He further stated, “BNP has fought for democracy and against injustice for 17 years. On October 28, 2023, the authoritarian government killed democracy.” He added, “The movement you saw in July and August was a movement against the previous authoritarian government under Hasina. Chhatra Dal played a significant role in that movement.” Moyeen Khan also said that the right to vote must be restored in Bangladesh. Only then will the rights of the people be established.

Other notable leaders present included Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Ripon, Advisory Council members Aman Ullah Aman, Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Organizing Secretary Rokibul Islam Bakul, Executive Committee members Iqbal Hasan Shyamol, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib, General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, and Dhaka University Chhatra Dal President Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahas, General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon, among others.
