Online Desk  :   BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “Attempts are being made to create a rift in BNP’s unity. However, they will not succeed because there is no division among us. We must remain patient. Some people are trying to mislead by saying that BNP does not want reform. In reality, BNP is committed to forming a united national government that includes all political parties and opinions.” He made these remarks as the chief guest at the AB Party’s first council held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday. Commenting on the country’s fragile economy and political situation, Mirza Fakhrul said “Now it is necessary to ensure a democratic system. In the new Bangladesh, there will be no division.”

The BNP Secretary General said, “We have been protesting for democracy for 16 years. False cases have been filed against 6 million BNP leaders and activists. 700 people have gone missing, and around 20,000 have been killed in total. We have been saved from the terrible monster of the Awami League government. We dream of building a new country, one that will not be ruined.” He added, “The country’s economic situation is not good, and the political situation is also fragile. The claim that we do not want reform is wrong. We want reform too – and we want quick elections. Once elections take place, all the crises will be addressed. Our goal is to create a united national government, and to achieve this, we are supporting an interim government.” In the first council of the AB Party, Mojibur Rahman Manju was elected as Chairman for the next three years, and Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad was elected as General Secretary.
