Online Desk  :   Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain has stated that uncertainty regarding the political situation is ongoing; however a roadmap will be announced soon. He mentioned that the government is working towards transferring power to an elected government as quickly as possible. Touhid Hossain made these remarks on Saturday at a “Branding Bangladesh” event held at a hotel in the capital.

Touhid Hossain commented that the hostile attitude towards each other among Bangladeshis abroad is damaging the country’s image. He pointed out that no other country has as many political party branches abroad as Bangladesh does, and such actions tarnish the image of Bangladeshis. He said that events such as processions, slogans, or egg-throwing by parties like BNP, Awami League, and others have a negative impact on the branding of the country.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser further stated that political instability will end soon, and then investors will come to Bangladesh. He narrated that over the past four months, Indian media has been running an extensive negative campaign against Bangladesh, spreading false information that suggests a war-like situation at the border and claims of Hindu persecution in Bangladesh. He emphasized the need for media support to counter this misinformation from India.

The Adviser acknowledged that there have been many complaints about expatriates not receiving necessary assistance at foreign embassies, though not all such complaints are true. He added that the government would take strict action if expatriates face harassment at airports.
