Online Desk  :   Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik has stated that top criminals Imamul Hasan, alias Picchi Helal, and Sanjidul Islam Imon, who were recently released on bail, will soon be brought under the law. He made these comments during a press conference at the DMP Media Centre on Tuesday. In response to a question from the media, Rezaul Karim said, “We are giving special attention to ensuring that the law-and-order situation remains normal. No criminal will be exempt from the law, whether it is Picchi Helal or Imon. Our efforts to bring them under the law are ongoing, and they will definitely be arrested.”

Recently, cases have been filed against these two criminals for murder and robbery. Most recently, Imon was named the prime accused in an incident where two businessmen were hacked and injured on Elephant Road. In his speech, the DB chief stated, “There will be no place for extortionists or robbers in this country. The police will curb them with an iron hand.” He also mentioned that surveillance by intelligence agencies has been increased in various parts of the capital and beyond. In the past 24 hours, DB police arrested 27 individuals from Dhaka, recovering firearms, foreign pistols, magazines, and ammunition.

Present at the press conference were Syed Harun Or Rashid, Joint Commissioner of DB’s Cyber Security and Support Centre (South), Mohammad Robiul Hossain Bhuiyan, Joint Commissioner of DB’s North Division, Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of Tejgaon Detective Police, and Mohammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of DMP.
