Online Desk  :  BNP Secretary General, former Dhaka College student and teacher Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said much bloodshed has taken place during the 15-year long anti-fascist movement and mass uprising of students and people.
“We have again got back a new Bangladesh. Let us take the new Bangladesh ahead forgetting all our differences and jealousy,” he said.  According to the BNP Secretary General, the young generation has moved much forward. They are now intensely involved in information technology. They know too much and there is no end to their knowledge. Now, the young generation should give more emphasis on their studies.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was speaking at a reunion function of former students of Dhaka College at Dhalis Amber Resort at Sirajdikhan in Munshiganj district on Friday (January 17). He said Dhaka College was a great seat of learning once upon a time. “We should not lose that pride in any away. I had the privilege  to study at the Dhaka College. The experiences I gained at that time was unparallel. It remains a great source of inspiration in my life. However, there are significant differences between then and now.” “I feel proud thinking that I was a student of Dhaka College. What I have learnt at this college, what I have seen and experiences of  student politics I have gained were very enjoyable throughout my life. The best time of my life was at the Dhaka College.”
Presided over by grand reunion organizing committee convener and Jatiyatabadi Sechhasebak Dal general secretary Mir Sharafat Ali Sopu, the reunion was also addressed by Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur and veteran journalist Shafique Rehman, among others.
