Online Desk : RAB Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman said there is no security risk at Tongi Bishwa Ijtema Ground. “We do not see any other risk at the moment except internal conflicts between the two sides. All the necessary measures for the overall security of the Maidan (ground) have already been taken,” he said. The RAB DG said this while briefing journalists at the RAB control room after visiting the Tongi Bishwa Ijtema Ground on Thursday afternoon.
The RAB DG also said, “For the safety of the devotees coming to the Ijtema, RAB’s foot patrol, car patrol, motorcycle patrol, striking force, reserve force, drone observation team, along with Maidan and its surrounding areas are being monitored round the clock through 123 CCTV cameras. In addition, there is a boat patrol through RAB’s speedboats on the river route. Millions of devotees from home and abroad gather in Tongi for the Ijtema. Extensive intelligence surveillance has been increased to prevent mobile theft, robbery, partying, drug addiction, and disorder and pickpocket violence.” At that briefing, RAB-1 Commander Lt. Col. Mohammad Zahidul Karim and senior RAB officials were also present.
