Online Desk  :   The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is set to extend the deadline for submitting income tax returns by another 15 days. A summary regarding this decision has already been sent to the Finance Adviser for approval. The official notification is expected to be issued today (January 30), according to sources at the NBR. Initially, the deadline for filing tax returns was November 30, but it was extended twice by two months, making January 31 the final day.

However, on the last working day before the deadline, the NBR has decided to grant an additional 15 days. This year, revenue collection faced disruptions during the anti-discrimination student protests, preventing many taxpayers from submitting their returns on time. The 15-day extension is expected to increase tax return submissions.
