Online Desk  :  The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today received formal allegations regarding the killings of 848 individuals, including 524 leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), during the July-August mass uprising. Mohammad Salauddin Khan, coordinator of BNP’s litigation data collection cell, filed the complaint at the ICT prosecution office this morning. Salauddin claimed that the victims were targeted in an effort to dismantle BNP, with 524 being party leaders and activists, and 324 being their relatives. He called for a thorough investigation by the ICT’s investigation agency and urged them to pursue further legal action.

This follows earlier complaints filed by BNP on January 9, concerning the deaths of 2,276 people in “crossfire” incidents and the enforced disappearances of 153 party members between 2008 and August 2024.
