Online Desk : The government has introduced stricter security measures for entering the Secretariat, incorporating advanced technology such as card reader scanning and updated policies, according to a new directive issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. As per the Secretariat Entry Policy 2025, signed by Senior Secretary Dr. Nasimul Gani, card-holding officials and employees must undergo body scanning using archways and metal detectors, while their bags will be screened through baggage scanners. Entry will only be permitted through designated gates by scanning official access cards. Vehicles will also require digital card scanning before entry.
Visitors will only be allowed access to the specific ministry or division for which they have permission and must leave the Secretariat within the allotted time. Their movement and exit will be monitored digitally. The new policy also mandates the use of QR codes for entry. Individuals holding QR codes must scan them at designated gates, and their images and details will be verified before access is granted. Vehicles carrying QR code holders must also be scanned digitally before entry.
