The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk :  If the ruling Awami League government doesn’t accept the demand of non-party caretaker government, the next general election may be held under the supervision of the United Nations, said Jatiyatabadi Samamana Jote (Nationalist Like-Minded Alliance) coordinator and NPP chairman Dr Fariduzzaman Farhad. “We will launch a united movement to press home our one point demand of Sheikh Hasina’s ouster from power after Eid-ul-Fitr if our 10-point demands are not accepted,” he said. Dr Farhad was speaking at a brief rally before bringing out a foot march of Jatiyatabadi Samamana Jote at Al Razi Complex premises at Purana Paltan in the capital on Friday afternoon. The foot march and rally were held to press home 10-point demands including reduction of the prices essential items, gas and electricity as well as election under a non-party caretaker government. The Jatiyatabadi Samamana Jote coordinator said, “People of the country don’t want any election under Sheikh Hasina. They believe that a free, fair and impartial election under Sheikh Hasina will never be possible. Apart from people of the country, the governments of the friendly countries want to see a free, fair and impartial election in Bangladesh. Because of it, foreign diplomats have been coming to Bangladesh and insisting the government for a fair election.”
Terming the Awami League government as a ‘corrupt, looter and repressive’ government, Dr Farhad said time will come soon when people will raise against the Hasina-led government and call it a corrupt and vote rigging government. Moderated by Jagpa general secretary SM Sahadat and NPP secretary general Mostafizur Rahman Mostofa, the rally was also addressed by Jagpa president Khandker Lutfar Rahman, Ganadal chairman ATM Golam Mowla Chowdhury, Democratic League’s general secretary Saifuddin Ahmed Moni, Bangladesh NAP chairman MN Shawon Sadequi, Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dr Nurul Islam and Bangladesh Janakalyan Party’s president Obaidul Huq Pirjada, among others.
