Online Desk  :   The Combined Private University Branch of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement (ADSM) has postponed their previously announced demonstration for Thursday at various private universities. MJH Manju, the convenor of the Combined Private University Branch of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, shared this information in a Facebook post at noon on Thursday. He said, “I request everyone to remain patient in the national interest. The activities of opportunists are beyond anyone’s imagination! Considering the overall situation of the country and the people, the previously announced program of the Combined Private University Branch has been postponed today.”

Earlier, on Wednesday, a new student organization, the ‘Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Council,’ was formed, led by former coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. A press conference was held at Dhaka University’s Madhur Cantine, during which the central and partial Dhaka University committee of this new student organization was announced. Following the announcement, clashes, protests, and counter-slogans occurred between Dhaka University students and private university students, leading to conflict.

Private university students demanded ‘proper representation’ in the new student organization’s committee. They claimed that students from Dhaka University were given priority in the committee. Following the clashes, private university students announced a demonstration program demanding justice for the attack.
