Online Desk  :   The Chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB), Professor Dr AKM Riazul Hasan, said on Tuesday that Rakhal Raha had no involvement in the purchase of paper for printing textbooks. He made these statements during a press conference at the NCTB building in Motijheel, Dhaka, around 12:30 pm. He described the allegations linking Rakhal Raha to a Tk 400 crore commission trade related to paper purchases as baseless propaganda. He further clarified that only Tk 100 crore had been spent on the purchase of paper for textbooks, making it impossible for a Tk 400 crore transaction to have occurred.

The NCTB Chairman dismissed a media report that raised allegations of commission trade in paper purchases, calling it both false and propagandistic. He said that Rakhal Raha served on the textbook revision committee this year. However, he had no involvement in the tendering process, textbook printing, or paper purchases. These tasks were carried out in full compliance with regulations, with officials from the respective departments of NCTB performing their duties accordingly.
