Online Desk  :   Police threw water cannons and charged baton on protesting private primary school teachers who had been excluded in the third phase of nationaliaation. As the protesters tried to march towards the chief adviser’s residence around 1:30PM on Wednesday defying police barrier at Jatiya Press Club which forced them to use water cannons. Now, they took position at the press club. Though they did not get a minimum assurance over their demands, the teachers, under the banner of the Bangladesh Private Primary Teachers’ Association, decided to march towards Jamuna. But police were on alert at the Kadam Fountain intersection.

Police barred them of aheading when the protest procession reached the Kadam Fountain. They said the protesters that only few can go there, not everyone. Bu the teachers did not hear and tried to continue the march towards Jamuna. Then police personnel used watercannons and charged baton on them to disperse the procession.
