Online Desk : After the tragic death of their father in an accident, the mother of the two brothers left them on the same day she gave birth to the younger son. Since then, the two children have been living a life of misery. Upon seeing a video of the two orphaned children from Atghoria Upazila in Pabna circulating on social media, BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman took responsibility for their well-being. Following Tarique Rahman’s instructions, on Saturday, members of the “Amra BNP Poribar” handed over financial aid from Tarique Rahman to the children at Sanjaypur in Chandba Union, Atghoria. They also promised to provide them with monthly assistance on a regular basis. Four years ago, Altaf Pramanik, son of Raju Pramanik from Sanjaypur, died in a road accident, leaving behind a young son and an expecting wife. A few months later, his wife Lovely gave birth to their second child and abandoned them on the very same day. Since then, Raju Pramanik, despite his poverty, took on the responsibility of the two helpless children and struggled to make ends meet with a small shop attached to their house.
Upon seeing the heartbreaking video, Tarique Rahman instructed the members of “Amra BNP Poribar” to find the children and extend their support. During their visit to the distressed family, Moksedul Momin Mithun, member secretary of “Amra BNP Poribar” and an agriculturist, conveyed Tarique Rahman’s message of solidarity and provided financial assistance on his behalf. Additionally, Atiqur Rahman Rumman, convener of Amra BNP Poribar and a member of the BNP Media Cell, contacted the family from Dhaka over the phone to check on their situation.
Others present during the visit included Zahidul Islam Roni, permanent member of the jatiya Press Club; Masud Rana Liton, member of Amra BNP Poribar; Jahurul Islam, general secretary of Pabna Press Club; Khaled Hossain Parag, convener of Pabna District Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha; Jamil Hossain, former vice-president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal; Harun-or-Rashid, president of Chandba Union BNP; and Ashraful Islam, leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal of Pabna Government Edward College.
