Online Desk : Hasnat Abdullah, southern chief organiser of the National Citizens Party (NCP), demanded Saturday that the Awami League (AL) be banned through a trial, not an executive order, citing its alleged role in disappearances and murders. Speaking at a rally outside the National Museum at Shahbagh, he urged the government to cancel AL’s registration via judicial process. “There’ll be no inclusive election with AL,” he said, slamming the party’s 2018 “midnight” and 2023 “dummy” polls.
He listed unresolved cases—Pilkhana massacre, anti-India killings, July massacre—claiming August 5 marked AL’s political end. Hasnat also vowed to block “Indian hegemony” in Bangladesh.
