During the event, key officials were present, including Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges; Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Water Resources; Faruk-E-Azam, Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Affairs; Prof Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder, Adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education; and Farida Akhtar, Adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.

It was reported that the advisers would travel from Banshbaria by ferry to Sandwip, where a public meeting will be held. This ferry service marks the end of a long wait for the people of Sandwip, an island upazila with a population of 400,000. The dream of direct communication between this island in the Bay of Bengal and the mainland has been fulfilled. Under the initiative of the Ministry of Shipping, the ferry service will operate between Banshbaria in Sitakunda and Guptachhara in Sandwip.
