Online Desk  :  Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has assured the students injured during the July uprising that the army will always stand by them. “You must never lose morale. There is no reason to. You are the proud sons of this nation. You have sacrificed greatly for our country and people. I congratulate you, express my gratitude, and assure you that I will always stand by your side,” said the army chief. He made this remark while speaking at an iftar event organised by the Bangladesh Army at Sena Malancha in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday in honour of the injured students.

He also stated that the army is working to provide financial assistance to the injured in collaboration with businessmen, banks, and various institutions. Funds from the Directorate General of Defence Intelligence (DGFI) are being distributed, and the Special Security Force (SSF) has also contributed financial aid. During the event, the army chief greeted the students and enquired about their well-being. The injured students, senior army officers, prominent civilian figures, and directors of various government hospitals attended the iftar and dinner. Additionally, the Bangladesh Army presented Eid gifts to the injured students at the end of the programme.
