Online Desk  :   Five people were killed and at least 35 others were injured when a bus overturned and fell into a ditch in Faridpur Sadar Upazila. The accident occurred at around 11:15 am on Tuesday (April 8) in front of Bakhunda Sharif Jute Mill on the Faridpur-Barishal highway . The identiies of the casualties were not initially known. According to fire service and locals, a Faridpur-bound bus belonging to ‘Hidex’ that left Tekerhat lost control and fell into a roadside ditch. Locals and fire service members carried out rescue operations. Faridpur Fire Service Senior Station Officer Nazrul Islam confirmed the news.

He said, on information, rescue operations were carried out at the spot. There were about 40 passengers in the bus. Five of them were killed. 35 were injured. Many are in critical condition. The injured have been rescued and sent to Faridpur Medical College.
