Online Desk : A Dhaka court has granted four-day remand to former International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) prosecutor Turin Afroz in connection with an attempted murder case filed at the capital’s Uttara West Police Station. The court of additional chief metropolitan magistrate Zakir Hossain of Dhaka issued the order on Tuesday.
The police had requested seven-day remand for questioning Turin Afroz in the Abdul Jabbar assassination attempt case. Abdul Jabbar was shot during a student-public movement against discrimination. Earlier, police arrested Turin Afroz from his home in the capital’s Uttara West Police Station area on Monday night. He was the prosecutor during the trial of crimes against humanity of 1971 at the International Crimes Tribunal from 2013 to November 2019.
