Online Desk  :   A record-breaking amount of Tk 9 crore 17 lakh 80 thousand 687 was collected from the donation boxes of the historic Pagla Masjid in Kishoreganj following a daylong counting process today (April 12) — the highest total ever recorded in the mosque’s history.

The previous highest collection, Tk 8 crore 21 lakh 34 thousand 304, was recorded on November 30, 2024. According to Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner and President of the Pagla Masjid Committee, Fouzia Khan, the counting began at 7 am and continued till 5 pm, involving around 401 individuals in the process. Following the count, the entire amount was deposited in the Kishoreganj branch of Rupali Bank, while foreign currencies and gold ornaments discovered among the donations were secured in the district administration’s treasury, she added.
