Online Desk  :   Bus tickets for Eid-ul-Azha will be available from Friday (May 16), both at counters and online. According to the Bangladesh BusTruck Owners Association’s decision, the travelers can buy May 29’s tickets on that day. Acting general secretary Shubhankar Ghosh Rakesh confirmed the matter on Wednesday afternoon. While responding about extra fare, Rakesh said, “BRTA’s fixed fare list must be followed. No additional fare can be charged. All transport owners have been instructed in this regard.”

He further added, there were complaints during the last Eid regarding fares on air-conditioned buses. “Passengers were unhappy. Many said they were being overcharged. The government does not fix fares for air-conditioned buses — the owners do.” Depending on the moon sighting, Eid-ul-Azha is likely to be observed in Bangladesh on June 8.
