Online Desk  : BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan said, “What I want to say is that all those who were allies of the fascist government, those who led them, must be tried because they committed crimes against me, my family, my friend, my colleague, and my countrymen. Of course, I want the trial. But the election cannot be held until that trial is over— those who talk like this actually want to delay the election under in the name of populist talks.” He said this at a discussion organized on the occasion of the eighth death anniversary of Shafiul Alam Pradhan, the founding president of the Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA), at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on Tuesday.

Nazrul Islam Khan said, “Reform and democracy are not contradictory. They are complementary. There is no room for one to hold back the other. That is why we say that there must be a trial, there must be reforms, and there must be elections. And all of it must be done as quickly as possible.” Jatiya Party’s Syed Ehsanul Huda, NDP’s Qari Abu Taher, Samyabadi Party’s Syed Nurul Islam, Jatiya Party’s presidium member Khandaker Abidur Rahman, among others, spoke at the event, chaired by Jagpa president Khandaker Lutfar Rahman and moderated by vice president MA Wahab.
