Online Desk : Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar has urged all believers to remain ever-conscious of death and to prepare for it through righteous living. Speaking at Namaz-e-Janaza of Dewan Sirajul Islam Motlib, former Ameer of Moulvibazar District Jamaat, he emphasized the importance of living a pious life free from sin and working tirelessly to establish Islamic values in society. Professor Parwar stated that death is inevitable and preordained for every soul. “We must die at our appointed time, so it is essential to prepare for that moment through constant righteous deeds,” he said. “We must avoid unlawful earnings, major sins, neglecting obligatory duties, and immoral behavior. Upholding prayer, modesty and guiding our families on the path of Islam are duties we cannot ignore.”
He added, “Our goal should be to dedicate our lives and resources to establishing the rule of Allah in society and the state.” Highlighting Motlib’s exemplary life, Parwar noted, “He was a man who truly lived by the ideals of the Islamic movement. Unlike many who merely preach, Motlib Bhai inspired others through his good character, humility, and patience.” Quoting a Hadith, he reminded the gathering, “After death, a person’s deeds come to an end except for three; ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge and righteous children who pray for them.”
Several other leaders also paid tribute to Motlib, including Jamaat Central Executive Member and Dhaka North Ameer Md Selim Uddin, Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer Md Fakhrul Islam, Sylhet District Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman, Moulvibazar District Ameer Engineer Md. Sayed Ali, and district-level representatives from BNP, Khilafat Majlis, and Islami Andolon Bangladesh. Motlib passed away on the evening of Wednesday (June 18) at the age of 80, while undergoing treatment at ICU of Sylhet Ibn Sina Hospital. He had long served as Moulvibazar District Ameer and held various important positions in Jamaat’s central and regional leadership. He contested the 1991 parliamentary election from Moulvibazar-3 as a Jamaat nominee and authored more than 15 books during his lifetime. He leaves behind his wife, six sons, four daughters, grandchildren and a wide circle of followers and admirers.
