Online Desk  :   Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) convener Md Nahid Islam has called for the inclusion of the July declaration in Bangladesh’s constitution, describing it as the foundation for the nation’s future political course. Speaking at a street rally at Mukta Mancha in Bogura on Saturday, Nahid emphasized that the July declaration was not merely symbolic but represented the party’s core manifesto and the guiding principle for a new Bangladesh. “Those who oppose embedding the July declaration into the constitution stand as the new custodians of Mujibism,” he told the gathering during the NCP’s street march program.

Highlighting the mass uprising of 2024 against political discrimination, Nahid reaffirmed his party’s commitment to safeguarding the civic rights of the people in Bogura and across the country. He stressed that following the popular movement, it was crucial to establish an independent judiciary, police, and administrative system to ensure true democratic governance. “Anyone attempting to revive the outdated structures will face consequences similar to those who previously clung to Mujibist ideals,” Nahid warned.

Outlining his vision for the country, the NCP leader underscored the need for systemic political change. “We are not here to be fresh players in an old, flawed game. We are here to rewrite the rules. It is time for the youth to step up and lead Bangladesh toward a democratic, inclusive, and discrimination-free future,” he said. Nahid concluded by positioning the NCP as the long-awaited political alternative, declaring, “After 54 years, a new choice stands before you—ready to build the Bangladesh you deserve.”
