Online Desk: The government has appointed new deputy commissioners in eight districts of the country. Of the eight DCs, seven are appointed anew while one was transferred from Natore to Rajshahi, according to a gazette notification issued last night by the Ministry of Public Administration (MoPA). Deputy commissioner of Natore Shamim Ahmed was transferred to Rajshahi district.
Abu Naser Bhuiyan, personal assistant of state minister for youth and sports, was appointed as DC of Natore; Deputy Secretary of MoPA Mohammad Ashfaqul Haque Chowdhury became DC of Narail; Mohammad Marufur Rashid Khan, personal secretary of Dhaka South city Corporation mayor, was made DC of Madaripur; Shakil Ahmed, deputy secretary of energy and mineral resources division, was appointed Dinajpur DC; Mohammad Azizul Islam, a director at the Prime Minister’s Office was made DC of Meherpur; Deputy Secretary of commerce ministry SM Rafiqul Islam was named Jhenidah’s DC; and Deputy Secretary of Cabinet Division Urmi Binte Salam was named Moulvibazar DC.
The incumbent DCs of the seven districts are transferred to different ministries and divisions.
