Online Desk: Former Chhatra League Foundation president and Member of Parliament Nure Alam Siddiqui passed away at a hospital in the capital early Wednesday. (Inna lillahi wa innailahi rajiun)

He breathed his last around 4:37am while undergoing treatment at the hospital, said poet Aniket Rajesh, press secretary of Nure Alam Siddiqui. Nure Alam’s body is scheduled to be taken to Jhenidah by helicopter this morning where his first namaz-e-janaza will be held.

After that, his second janaza will be held at Gulshan Azad mosque in Dhaka. There, he will be given guard of hounour. Nure Alam Siddiqui will be buried next to his own mosque in Savar.

Meanwhile, Dhaka-based Jhenidah Journalist Forum has expressed deep shock and condolence over the death of Nure Alam Siddiqui. The forum’s president senior journalist Quazi Abdul Hannan and general secretary Mehedi Hasan Polash prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved members of his family.
