Online Desk: The cause of death of Sultana Jasmine, the Naogaon union land office employee who died in Rab custody on March 24, was given as “shock due to intracranial haemorrhage” in her final autopsy report. The final opinion of the autopsy report also said that “the mentioned injury in the autopsy report was not sufficient to cause death of the deceased”.
Associate Professor Kafil Uddin, head of forensic medicine department at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, today told reporters that the haemorrhage occurred due to sudden increase of blood pressure and stress. A three-member medical board headed by Kafil conducted the autopsy on Sultana’s body on March 25.
After completing all laboratory tests, the board prepared their final opinion on the death on April 1 and handed it over to police yesterday afternoon. Kafil Uddin said two marks of injury was found on her body, one on her left forehead and another was on right elbow. “Both injuries were not sufficient to cause her death,” the physician added.
