Online Desk: New Market owners and management committee have opened the market on Sunday morning, which was closed for an indefinite period following a fire incident at New Super market.
Some traders were seen waiting on the ground floor of Chandrima Super Market for its opening. They will open their respective shops after getting an instruction from the owners association as a meeting is underway over the issue, said trader Jahangir.
Ashraf Uddin Ahmed, Vice-President of New Market Owners Association, said, “There are five markets at separate blocks in New Market. All those have individual association and management. It will not be confirmed yet whether all those markets will be opened or not.”
Earlier, the authorities closed the New Market for an indefinite time after a massive fire burnt down many shops in the New Super Market.
