Online Desk: Three farmers were killed in lightning strikes in two separate districts across the country on Saturday. Among the deceased, two were killed in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj district and another was killed in Nandigram upazila of Bogura district.

In Sirajganj, two people were killed as lightning struck on them at Bagdumur village under the upazila on Saturday afternoon when they were returning home after finishing their work in the field. They were critically injured and then, they were declared as dead by the on-duty doctors of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital on their arrival.

The deceased were identified the deceased as Abdul Malek, son of Nasim Khan, and Md Soleman Sheikh, son of Abdul Majid Sheikh, both are residents of the village. Sirajganj Sadar Police Station inspector confirmed the matter.

In Bogura, an elderly man was killed after being struck by lightning at Singjani village under Burail union of Nandigram upazila in the district on Saturday afternoon when he was cutting grass on the field. He died on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Lokman Ali, 60, a resident of the village. Burail Union Parishad chairman confirmed the matter. Legal steps have been taken in those regards.
