Online Desk: Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD) predicted rain or thundershowers in eight divisions of the country in 24 hours starting from 9am on Sunday. “Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places,” BMD said in its latest bulletin.

Mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Madaripur, Rajshshi, Pabna, Moulvibazar, Cumilla, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khulna, Jashore, Chuadanga, Barishal, Patuakhali & Bhola districts and it may abate from some places. Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the bulletin.

The highest temperature was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius in Bandarban and Khulna on Saturday while the lowest temperature was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius at three spots in the country on Sunday. The weather office recorded the highest 31 mm rainfall in Jashore. Meanwhile, a Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.
