The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: India batter Virat Kohli presented Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz with his autographed jersey, following the second Test in Mirpur on Sunday. Miraz had dismissed Kohli for a single in the previous session as the hosts strangled the visitors, leaving them 100 runs short of their target with six wickets in hand. While walking back, Kohli got into a heated argument with skipper Shakib Al Hasan and an on-field umpire about something.
The Bangladesh all-rounder shared a photo with Kohli after the 34-year-old gave Mehidy a signed jersey of himself. Miraz had a five-wicket haul against India in the second innings but was unable to lead his team to victory. “Special souvenir from one of the greatest cricketers Virat Kohli,” wrote Miraz. Miraz got five wickets in the innings including two in the morning session on Sunday, India eventually won the match by three wickets.
Whatever had happened between Kohli and the Bangladesh camp the previous day seemed to have been put to bed as, during the post-match presentation, Kohli came down to hand the jersey to Miraz, with both smiling for photographs. The Bangladesh all-rounder had also played a major role in the home side’s 2-1 win in the ODI series earlier.
