Chamber Judge upholds Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque’s bail

Online Desk: Chamber Judge on Sunday upheld the bail of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh leader Mamunul Haque in two cases, out of five. Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division of the SC Justice M Enayetur Rahim passed the order.
Mamunul’s lawyer filed a petition seeking bail in the cases. But the court granted bail in two cases. Earlier on May 3, the High Court granted bail to Mamunul in the five case filed with Paltan Police Station in Dhaka and Chattogram’s Hathazari Police Station in 2021.
Mamunul was arrested from Jamia Rahmania Arabia Madrasa in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on April 18, 2021. As he was accused in some other case, he will not be released from jail right now, said Adv Helal Uddin.
