Online Desk: Two lovers reportedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Basail upazila in Tangail district on Wednesday. The incident took place in Jorbari area under Kashil union of the upazila early in the morning.

The deceased were Habil Mia, 17, son of Abul Mia, a resident of Garashin Madhyapara village under sadar upazila, and Rita Akter, 15, daughter of Manjurul Islam, of Moishanandnal village of the same upazila.

It was known that Habil and Rita developed an affair while working together in a textile mill. At around 4 am On Wednesday, they jumped in front of a Dhaka-bound Nilsagar Express train in Basail Jorbari area as their families did not accept their relation,

Later, being informed, police recovered their bodies from the spot. Gharinda Railway Police ASI Fazlul Haque confirmed the matter.
