Online Desk: A ‘war criminal’ was arrested by the members of Rapid Action Battalion from Dhaka’s Ashulia area on Sunday. Arrested Md Azhar Ali Shikder, 68, is an warranted accused. He was absconding for the last eight years.

A RAB-2 press release confirmed the matter on Monday. Azhar was involved in mass killing, rape, illegal detention, torture, kidnap, arson attack in Bagerhat’s Kachua upazila and Morelganj area during the liberation war in 1971.

According to a complaint filed against Azhar. he has done these crimes with his accomplices. RAB sources said. An International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on July 16, 2016, issued an arrest warrant against Azhar Ali for his crimes against humanity during the war in 1971.
