Police recover woman’s body from beneath stairs of Savar building

Online Desk: Police recovered the body of a woman inside a sack under the stairs of a house in Bank Colony area of Savar near Dhaka on Wednesday morning. The dead was Babita Akter, 35, hailed from Netrakona district. However, her detailed identity was not known immediately.

According to police, local people spotted the body inside a sack under the stairs of the ground floor of a house in that area and informed police around 8 am.

On information, police recovered the body from the spot. Initially, the woman may be strangled to death, police said. Savar Model Police Station sub-inspector Zahirul Islam said a man has been detained for questioning in the incident.
