Online Desk: Vehicular movement on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway came to a halt as two factions of Awami League took position in Cumilla’s Chauddagram parts of the highway.
The two groups–supporters are former Railway Minster Mujibul Haque and his rival Chauddagram’s former mayor Mizanur Rahman– clashed around 8am which left at least 10 injured.
Later, they took position on the highway. Following the sit-in, sever traffic congestion was created on both sides of the highway. Both the feuding groups threw brickbats to each other.
According to local Awami League leaders, Chauddagram’s former mayor Mizanur Rahman is scheduled to join a rally. But the supporters of Mujibul Haque took position on the highway to bar the leaders and activist of the rival group to join the rally.
