The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: Main opposition BNP has been accorded permission to hold its mass procession in Dhaka on Friday afternoon. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) gave the permission to the BNP on Tuesday evening. “The DMP has given us permission to bring out our mass procession between 2:00pm and 5:00pm on Friday,” BNP vice chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain told reporters after holding a meeting with DMP Commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruq at the latter’s office.
The mass procession will be brought out from the BNP’s central office premises at Naya Paltan in the capital at 2:00pm which will get terminated after reaching Banglamotor at 5:00pm parading Kakrail Crossing, Shantinagar, Malibagh, Mouchak and Maghbazar. BNP International Affairs Secretary Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder was also present at the meeting.
The Dhaka mass procession of the BNP was supposed to be held on Saturday with simultaneous countrywide protests at the district and metropolitan levels with like-minded parties. However, the BNP rescheduled the rally at the request of Awami League as the rally coincided with the ruling party’s national council.
