Online Desk: Three Rohingya people, including a leader (head majhi), were shot during a gunfight 0at the Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar early Friday. Armed Police Battalion (APBn)-14 Commanding Officer Additional Deputy Inspector General Syed Harun-or-Rashid said the incident took place in Balukhali and Kutupalong camps.
The injured were Nur Muhammad (head majhi) and Ruhul Amin of Kutupalong camp and Nurul Alam from Balukhali camp. Among the injured, two have been admitted to a NGO-run Turkey Hospital while one is receiving treatment at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
Police and witnesses said that the miscreants are allegedly attacking those people who took stand in favour of Rohingya repatriation. The official said that security measures have been intensified to maintain the normal law and order situation in the camps, with increased patrols and surveillance, he added.
