Online Desk: A Bangladeshi national died and another suffered gunshot wounds in two separate incidents of robberies in South Africa.

The deceased was identified as Maqdudur Rahman Mohasin, hailed from Dawudkandi upazila of Comilla district and the injured is Sajib Barua, of Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram district. The incidents occurred on Saturday evening (local time) in Johannesburg and capital Bloemfontein.

Comilla Community of South Africa organising secretary Mir Hossain Meeru said,”Mohasin had been working at a shop in Bloemfontein. In the evening, a group of robbers entered into the shop and shot in his head. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.”

Meanwhile, Buddhist Community of South Africa president Sheibal Barua said,”Sajib worked as a driver in Johannesburg. He was dropping off some goods at a shop on Saturday evening when a group of robbers entered the shop and shot him in the head.” “Sajib was taken to Johannesburg Central Hospital in critical condition. The doctors are closely monitoring his condition,” he added.
