Online Desk: A female lawyer has been killed when a bus rammed a motorcycle carrying her on Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in the capital. The accident happened at about 11:45am on Sunday (July 16) at Jatrabari area. The victim was identified as Advocate Parvin Sultana. She was returning home in the old part of the capital riding on the motorcycle with his nephew. The motorcyclist, Sakhawat Hossain, was also injured in the accident.

Jatrabari Police Station’s sub-inspector (SI) Md Kamruzzaman said driver of the bus belonging to Lovely Paribahan was arrested and the bus was seized. The body of deceased lawyer was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s morgue. Quoting family, police said the 55-year-old Parvin Sultana was a lawyer at Supreme Court. However, she also practiced law at judicial magistrate court in Dhaka. She has a chamber there.

Parvin lived at Kagojitola on Mohon Das Lane in Shyambazar area under Sutrapur Police Station in the capital. Her father’s name is Abul Hossain. Parvin’s elder brother Farid Uddin said his sister went to a court in Narayanganj with her nephew Sakhawat Hossain. They had a case going on over family land property there. She was a plaintiff of the case. Both of them became the victims of road accident when they were returning home.

Injured Sakhawat said a speeding bus rammed their motorcycle on the flyover at Jatrabari area. Both of them were injured being fallen from their motorcycle on the flyover. Later, both of the injured were rushed to the DMCH where doctors pronounced Parvin as dead.
