Online Desk: Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has asked for the list of names of head teachers, assistant head teachers and assistant teachers who were absent from their educational institutions yesterday without permission from authorities concerned.
DSHE’s Dhaka office sent a letter to the district education officials, asking to submit the list by today. ASM Abdul Khalek, Acting Deputy Director, Dhaka Region of DSHE signed the letter, dated July 23.
This list has been sought at a time when the Bangladesh Teachers’ Association is holding a sit-in programme in front of the National Press Club since July 11 to press home their demand for the nationalisation of secondary education.
Earlier, DSHE cancelled the two-week-long summer vacation, which was scheduled to begin last Thursday (July 20), for secondary schools and colleges across the country.
